Review

Reviewing

Reviewing is one list and the verbs that work it: read what is stale, certify it, or flag what is wrong.

Open the worklist

  1. Go to Library.
  2. Press one of the chips beside Review — Needs review, Expired, Needs correction or Certified. Each carries the count of rows in that state.

A chip wears the state's short name, so the Expired chip selects the rows whose seal reads Review expired. The chips are links, so the filter is a URL you can bookmark or paste into a thread, and it composes with the filter field below them. Pressing a chip that is already on takes it back off.

When at least one snippet has never been certified, the page counts them in a sentence above the chips ending in Open the review worklist, which turns on the three states that need work at once.

The list is flat and ordered Oldest review first · never-certified snippets lead, which is what the line above it says.

The review worklist filtered to Needs correction, with the flagged snippet and the note the flag carries.
A flag is a note on a row, and the note is what whoever fixes the snippet has to go on.

Work it from the keyboard

The worklist is one tab stop and the header prints its keys: J K move · A certify · F flag · E edit. ↑ ↓ Home End move as well, and ⏎ opens the focused row in the editor.

A key the row's state refuses says why rather than doing nothing — pressing A on a flagged row answers with the same sentence the menu item carries.

Each row's ⋯ carries Open in editor, Copy, Quicklook, Mark certified, Flag for correction, Clear flag and History. The rest of a snippet's menu is present and off with Available from the library list, not the worklist.

Flag what is wrong

Flag for correction is open to every member, including an assembler who cannot write in the library — somebody reading a wrong paragraph in front of a customer is the signal the whole seal exists for.

It asks for a note in a dialog titled What is wrong with and the snippet's name, and the verb is off with Add a note first. until there is one. The note is the only thing whoever fixes it has to go on, and the dialog says what the flag does before you confirm it: The snippet is left out of Live Answers until the flag is cleared. It still reads, assembles and exports.

Clear flag puts a flagged snippet back to Needs review so it can be read again. It needs write access, as certifying does.

Send a certified snippet back

A certification you know is stale is not the same claim as text that is wrong, and it has its own verb. Send for review is on a Fuzzy Live Answers card, beside Mark wrong. It is open to every member and accepted from Certified and Review expired only — on a snippet already in the queue the control is off and says so.

Pressing it answers Sent for review. It is in the library’s review queue and still exports.

When the list is empty

Nothing here is in that state. with Show the whole library beside it.
