The workspace
Three panes for the library, canvas, and live preview.
- Library tree
- Browse snippets by library and collection with their review state and age beside the name. The review state is a coloured square; the age shows the time since the last certification.
- Inserting from the tree
- Return inserts the selected snippet at the insertion point, and Insert at end places it last. Insert all on a collection adds every snippet in that collection in order.
- Assembly canvas
- Drag snippets from the tree, reorder rows from the keyboard, and set each row’s heading depth.
- The canvas row menu
- Refresh to latest re-pins a row when its snippet has a newer revision. Save as snippet… turns a row of one-off prose into a library snippet and leaves the row tracking it. Increase heading level (+1), Decrease heading level (-1) and Reset heading level (H0) adjust heading depth in the finished document, and Remove deletes the row from the canvas.
- Live preview
- See the formatted document update in real time as you edit the canvas.
- Quicklook
- Press Shift-Return on a tree row, or choose Quicklook in the row menu on the Library page and review worklist, to inspect the rendered snippet with its seal, revision number, Copy, and Open in editor.
- Copying one snippet
- Copy places a single snippet on the clipboard as rich text and plain text from a tree row, the Library page, the review worklist, or Quicklook.
- Every snippet’s own page
- Open in library opens any tree row or canvas row on the Library page. Snippet URLs use a permanent ID so links continue working after renames.
- Full-text search
- Press / to focus the library search input and search across titles, tags, summaries, and body text. Certified snippets rank above unreviewed ones; drafts and archived snippets are excluded.
- Keyboard shortcuts
- Navigate the workspace from the keyboard. Press ? to view shortcuts for the workspace, library tree, canvas, and editor.
- The command palette
- Press Command-K to search snippets and run document actions including Fields, Export, Save as template, and Start prompter. Unavailable actions remain visible with a note explaining why.
- Moving between pages
- Documents, Library, and Mappings stay in the workspace toolbar at desktop widths and collapse into the Go to or More menu on narrower windows.

The prompter
A scrolling prompter for live demos and calls.
RequiresThe CCEForge browser extension, for Chrome. Cues from the page and recording mappings need it. The prompter reads a document without it, and the rest of CCEForge needs no extension.
- The browser extension
- Detects which page or UI element is on screen during a demo. Runs in Chrome without storing credentials.
- Mappings and cues
- Map a snippet to a URL or page element so the prompter jumps to that section when the page opens or the pointer reaches the element. Manage all site mappings on the Mappings page.
- The step map
- Shows numbered markers for your current section, next section, and other mapped sections on the page. Offers "Re-map the rest." when mappings are missing and displays "Mapping mode is on; cues do not fire." while mapping.
- Voice-follow
- Scrolls your script as you speak using Chrome’s on-device speech recognition. The "Only my voice" switch filters out quieter audio from other call participants.
- Its own window
- Pop the prompter into its own floating window beside your video call in Chrome and Edge.
Live Answers
