Error codes
What each code the product shows means, and what to do next.
A failure the product reports carries a code, such as CCE-4021. It names the failure without the details, so quote it when you ask for help. This page lists the numbered codes and the named code families below; browser-only and extension codes, such as CCE-UI-NETWORK or CCE-EXT-1006, are not listed here.
When a message also shows Reference and an id, the failure is already reported on our side; quote the id with the code.
Signing in
| Code | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
CCE-2001 |
The sign-in this browser held has ended, so the request ran as nobody. | Sign in again. Anything already saved is unchanged. |
CCE-2002 |
The six-digit code, or the link in the email, could not be used: it was mistyped, it has expired, it was used already, or the link arrived incomplete. | Check the digits, or ask for a new code and use the newest email. |
CCE-2003 |
The link in the sign-in email was opened after it had expired, or after it had already been used. | Ask for a new code from the sign-in page and use it straight away. |
CCE-2004 |
The sign-in service refused because several codes were requested, or several attempts were made, in a short time. | Wait a minute, then try again. The last code sent still works. |
CCE-2005 |
No open account uses that address: none was created with it, or the account has been closed. | If you have never signed up, create an account from the sign-up page. A closed account cannot be reopened from here; quote the code when you ask for help. |
CCE-2006 |
The sign-in service did not complete the sign-in: it accepted the code and returned no session, or new accounts and email sign-in are switched off for this deployment. | Try again in a minute with a new code. If it repeats, nothing on your side changes it; quote the code when you ask for help. |
CCE-2007 |
That address used all the sign-in attempts it is allowed in a short period, right codes and wrong, so sign-in for it is locked for a while. | Wait for the lock to end, as the message says. If the message says the code you were typing no longer works, ask for a new one then. |
CCE-2008 |
Too many codes were requested in the last hour, for that address or from this connection. | Use a code already in the inbox, or wait the time the message gives and ask again. |
CCE-2011 |
Signing in with Google did not start or did not complete. | Sign in with your email address, or try Google again in a minute. |
CCE-2015 |
The Google sign-in was cancelled on Google's screen. Nothing changed. | Start it again, or sign in with your email address. |
CCE-2016 |
Google sent the sign-in back to a browser that did not start it, or the handoff it started was no longer there. | Start the Google sign-in again from the sign-in page, in the same browser, and let it finish there. |
Invitations and members
| Code | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
CCE-2012 |
The workspace is at its member ceiling, so nobody else can join it: an invitation was not created, or one could not be accepted. Nothing was removed: every member still has access and every document still exports. | An admin can revoke a pending invitation to free the place, or ask us to raise the ceiling. If you were accepting an invitation, ask whoever sent it. |
CCE-2013 |
The invitation link no longer opens anything: it was accepted already, revoked, expired, or never existed, or the link arrived incomplete. | Check that the whole link was copied. If it was, ask whoever invited you to send a new one. |
CCE-2014 |
Inviting people is an admin action, and this account is not an admin of the workspace. | Ask an admin of the workspace to send the invitation. |
CCE-3006 |
That address already belongs to a member of this workspace. | Nothing to do. They already have access. |
Saving and loading
| Code | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
CCE-1001 |
The server refused what was sent: something in it is not in the shape the server accepts, or this account's role does not allow the action. Where a form is on screen, the field at fault is marked. | Change what the message names and send it again. If the message names a role, ask an admin or the owner. If nothing on screen is marked and no role is named, the fault is in the product; quote the code when you ask for help. |
CCE-3001 |
What the action pointed at is not there: it was archived, it moved, it has not been created or saved yet, or it is not available to this account. | Go back and open it again from where it is listed. If the message says something has not been created yet, create it first. |
CCE-3002 |
The change could not be applied as things stand: something changed under it, the move or rename is not allowed from where it is now, or a rule the message names stops it. Nothing was overwritten. | Reload to see the current state, then make the change again from there, or do what the message says. |
CCE-3003 |
Something with that name or id already exists. | If you were naming or restoring something, choose another name, or rename or archive the one that has it. If you pressed Listen, press Listen again. |
CCE-3004 |
The snippet has never been saved, so there is nothing to add to the document. | Write the snippet and save it, then add it to the document. |
CCE-3007 |
New snippet needs the library pane, and it is not on screen. | Show the library pane, then choose New snippet again. |
CCE-3010 |
A snippet from a Personal library can sit only in its owner's own unshared documents, so it cannot go in a shared document or template, and a document or folder that holds one cannot be shared. | Move the snippet to a shared library, or remove it from the document first. |
Reviews
| Code | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
CCE-1002 |
A snippet was flagged as wrong without a note, and a flag needs one. | Write in the note what is wrong, then flag it again. |
CCE-2010 |
The library asks for a second reader, so the person who wrote the revision cannot certify it, and a Personal library cannot turn that rule off. | In a shared library, ask someone else who can write there to certify it, or an admin can turn off the second-reader rule in Settings → Reviews. A Personal library's snippets cannot be certified; a library is Shared or Personal from creation. |
CCE-3005 |
The review action does not apply to the snippet's current state, or this account cannot perform it: the snippet moved on, editing is paused, or the setting is an admin's. | Read what the snippet shows now and choose the action that fits it. If the message names an admin, ask one. |
Google Drive
| Code | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
CCE-2017 |
Only the member who set up a Google Drive sync can change who sees it, and this account did not set it up. | Ask that member to change it, or remove the folder and add it again yourself. |
CCE-2018 |
The Google Drive action needs write access to the workspace, and this account does not have it right now: it is an assembler, it is paused, or the workspace's Drive access has lapsed. | Ask an admin for write access. If the message says access has lapsed, a curator or admin exporting to Google Docs or syncing a folder renews it; until then export DOCX and upload it. |
CCE-2019 |
Google Drive was not connected: access was declined on Google's screen, or Google reported a problem with the request. | Connect Google Drive again and allow access when Google asks. |
CCE-2020 |
Google Drive was not connected: the exchange with Google did not complete, on Google's side or on ours. | Connect Google Drive again. If it repeats, quote the code when you ask for help. |
CCE-2021 |
Google Drive was not connected: Google granted access for this moment only, with nothing to keep for later. | In your Google account, remove CCEForge under Third-party access, then connect Google Drive again. |
CCE-2022 |
Google accepted the connection, and it could not be saved on our side. | Connect Google Drive again. If it repeats, quote the code when you ask for help. |
CCE-3009 |
The workspace's Google Drive connection has to be made again before Drive can be used. Snippets already synced or imported stay in the library. | Reconnect Google Drive from Settings → Sources, then try again. |
CCE-4032 |
Google did not answer: it would not renew this workspace's access, or Drive would not list the folder or take the upload. Nothing here changed, and the library is as it was. | Try again in a minute. The document still exports as DOCX, Markdown, HTML or PDF in the meantime. |
The prompter and Live Answers
| Code | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
CCE-3008 |
A snippet mapped on this page could not be loaded into the prompter. | Map it again, or choose another snippet for that area. |
CCE-4024 |
Live Answers cannot reach the model: it is not configured here, the connection dropped, or the model service refused or timed out. Listening continues. | Wait. Asks are detected again when the model is back, and the lines said in the meantime are sent again then. |
CCE-4025 |
The model answered in a shape Live Answers could not read, so that reply added nothing: no asks, no answer, or no check against the docs. It is already reported. | Listening continues. Where a card shows the code, press Try again; otherwise the next lines go to the model as usual. If it keeps happening, quote the code when you ask for help. |
CCE-4026 |
The on-device speech recogniser did not load in the browser, or stopped during the call: a download did not complete, or the computer's graphics hardware would not run it. | Check the connection and press Try again. If it keeps failing, this computer may not be able to run the recogniser. |
CCE-4027 |
Chrome could not open the audio of the shared tab or of the microphone. | Share the meeting tab again, or allow the microphone again, then press Listen. |
CCE-4029 |
Live Answers is turned off for this workspace in its settings. | An admin can turn it on in Settings → Live Answers. |
Limits and ceilings
| Code | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
CCE-2009 |
The same action was repeated more times in a short period than its limit allows. Nothing already done is undone. | Wait the time the message gives, then continue. What was already sent or saved still stands. |
CCE-4031 |
The workspace has used every Answers minute its plan includes for this billing period, so a new prompter session does not start. Nothing was removed: every answer already recorded is kept, the library is unchanged, and every document still exports. | The allowance returns at the start of the next billing period. Before then, an admin of the workspace can change the plan, or ask us to raise the allowance. |
Failures on our side, or in the browser
| Code | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
CCE-4021 |
Something failed on our side. It is already reported. | Try again. If it keeps failing, quote the code, and the reference when one is shown, when you ask for help. |
CCE-4022 |
Attempts could not be counted, so the request was refused rather than let through. It is already reported. | Try again in a minute. If it repeats, quote the code, and the reference when one is shown. |
CCE-4023 |
The profile change is saved. The previous image could not be deleted from storage, so the old file is still there. | Nothing to do. The profile shows the change; quote the code if you want the old file removed. |
CCE-4028 |
The browser refused to write to the clipboard. Browsers allow a clipboard write only straight after a click in a focused window. | Click Copy again with the window in focus. If it repeats, quote the code when you ask for help. |
Named codes
A placeholder in <…>, such as <site> or <title>, stands for the value the message fills in at the time.

CCE-CALL-NODOC |
This document has not been saved yet. Add a snippet to it, then start the prompter. | The prompter |
CCE-CALL-OFFLINE |
